Our Story
Medikal Africa was born from a simple yet powerful observation: Africa bears a disproportionate burden of antimicrobial resistance (AMR), with nearly one-third of the world's 5 million AMR-related deaths occurring on our continent.
Founded by Olivier Niyonshima and the team at ZeroX Intelligence, we recognized that traditional healthcare approaches were insufficient to address the scale and complexity of this crisis.
Our journey began with a commitment to develop AI-powered solutions specifically designed for African healthcare systems, taking into account our unique linguistic diversity, resource constraints, and cultural contexts.
