We are pioneering the future of healthcare in Africa by combining artificial intelligence, local expertise, and deep understanding of African healthcare challenges to save lives and build stronger health systems across the continent.
Medikal Africa was born from a simple yet powerful observation: Africa bears a disproportionate burden of antimicrobial resistance (AMR), with nearly one-third of the world's 5 million AMR-related deaths occurring on our continent.
Founded by Olivier Niyonshima and the team at ZeroX Intelligence, we recognized that traditional healthcare approaches were insufficient to address the scale and complexity of this crisis.
Our journey began with a commitment to develop AI-powered solutions specifically designed for African healthcare systems, taking into account our unique linguistic diversity, resource constraints, and cultural contexts.
Our mission is to improve healthcare outcomes in Africa by leveraging artificial intelligence to combat antimicrobial resistance and ensure accessible, accurate, and affordable healthcare for all communities, regardless of location, language, or economic status.
Our vision is to lead Africa’s digital health transformation by building AI-powered solutions that create equitable healthcare access, empower healthcare workers and patients, and position African-led innovation at the forefront of global healthcare advancement.
We continuously push the boundaries of what's possible in healthcare technology.
We work hand-in-hand with healthcare professionals, communities, and partners.
We maintain the highest standards of ethics, transparency, and responsible AI development.
Our diverse team of healthcare professionals, researchers, and technology experts are united by a shared mission to transform African healthcare through innovation, collaboration, and responsible AI development.
